In breast and lung cancers, the link between CEA levels and metastatic spread of the disease constitutes an element for assessment of a patient’s response to treatment.
In medullary thyroid cancer, the combination of CEA and thyrocalcitonin helps to confirm diagnosis and monitor relapses.
