Amyloid β1-40 and β1-42 peptides are involved in the appearance of Alzheimer's disease symptoms. The production of these two amyloid peptides is regulated by the activity of 2 enzymes, β and γ secretase, which cleave the amyloid precursor protein. Cisbio Bioassays has developed an assay for the measurement of amyloid β1-40 peptides, based on our proprietary HTRF® technology. This assay can be rapidly performed, easily miniaturized, and is highly amenable to automation.
Our Technology HTRF
HTRF® technology principle:
Truly homogeneous functional assays
FRET (Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) is based on the transfer of energy between two fluorophores – a donor and an acceptor – when in close proximity. Molecular interactions between biomolecules can be assessed by coupling each partner with a fluorescent label and by detecting the level of energy transfer.
