Custom Kit Services

Custom assays by scientific experts

With Cisbio’s custom kits services, you benefit from optimized assay solutions that make your experiments easier and more reliable. All operations are performed under strict confidentiality, with an end-to-end process from feasibility to development to transfer.

Feasibility study

  • Assay specification and options
  • Reagent description
  • Development time-line

Assay development and transfer

  • Ongoing project tracking by a dedicated Project Manager
  • Projects generally completed in 4-8 weeks
  • Final report and reagents for implementation
  • Assay implementation in your laboratory

Cisbio offers several custom assay development options to meet your need

  • ELISA conversion to HTRF assay
  • Development of custom assays for new targets

ELISA conversion

Cisbio can save you time and money by converting your ELISA into a homogeneous HTRF assay.

  • No wash steps. No separation steps
  • Mix and read: fast and simple
  • Low sample consumption (<10uL)
  • Compatible with biological samples

How it works

You indicate which commercial ELISA you want us to convert.
We select, source, and label all potential antibodies.
All antibody pairs are tested with the sample of interest (cell lysate or supernatant).
Results are presented and discussed to select the best antibody pair for your assay.

Detection of human G-CSF in cell supernatant

Starting material: ELISA
5 antibodies were selected and labeled
25 pairs were cross-tested on recombinant proteins and one pair was identified for HTRF optimization.
Right: HTRF assay showing low detection limit (31 pg/ml) and wide range (up to 2,000 pg/ml)
Below: Final HTRF protocol for G-CSF detection

Cell-based assay

Our dedicated scientists have extensive experience and a strong success rate for developing cell-based assays. You can be sure that they will provide the exact solution you need. Be the first to have a high-throughput assay for challenging new targets.

Assays already developed:

  • Detection of small molecules, proteins, or peptides in biological samples
  • Kinase and protein modifications, ubiquitination, transferases (biochemical and cell-based)
  • Epigenetic targets (biochemical and cell-based)
  • Proteases, endoglycosidases

How it works

You indicate the assay of interest and Cisbio provides you with sample preparation protocols and suggestions (buffers, sample freezing, etc).
We select and source the potential antibodies for testing.
Once we receive your samples (cell lysates or supernantant), we label the antibodies and cross-test all possible pairs on your sample.
Results are provided and the best pair is selected for further optimization.
The best pair is further tested (concentration, incubation, buffers) to provide you with an HTRF assay that is ready-to-go according to your requirements.
The full assay is transferred to you, along with the protocol and technical data.

Detection of human PCSK9 in cell supernatant

4 antibodies were selected and labeled.
14 pairs were cross-tested on cell supernatant (provided by customer) and one pair was identified for HTRF optimization.

Assay validation on HepG2 cells (cell model for metabolic diseases).
Cells (50K / well) were plated in a 96-well plate and treated with Brefeldin A (2µg/ml).
Supernatants were transferred to a 384-well plate for detection.
Non-treated cells release PCSK9 after 180 min. (in green), while non-treated cells do not release PCSK9 (in orange).
